Ai uncovers the arsonist's pattern, leading Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko to encounter the attacker. Takagi is trapped inside the burning warehouse, unable to remove handcuffs that are a memento from Miwako's deceased father. Conan arrives to stop the arsonist but remains unaware of Takagi's peril. Simultaneously, the suspected bank robber confesses to Miwako, explaining that his father saved his life. Miwako informs him that the annulment date was moved forward by one day due to a typhoon in Italy. Takagi appears to perish but is found alive, handcuffs still attached to the window bars, before collapsing into Miwako's arms.
