Aired on June 18, 2001

238
Heiji invites Mouri, Ran, and Conan to a celebration for the 3K restaurant opening by American celebrities Ricardo Barreira, Mike Norwood, and Ray Curtis. Kazuha overhears Heiji’s phone call and suspects an affair due to his whispered phrases. At the party, reporter Ed McCay questions Japan’s scandal reputation, referencing "kitanai." Ran obtains Ray’s autograph and a Nagai exhibition ticket for Conan. Ray asks the group to form a 'K' with restaurant lights. A gunshot breaks a second-floor window, revealing Ed McCay’s dead body. He holds his belt with his left hand and shows three fingers with his right. Heiji wonders why Shinichi defends suspects rather than seeking the truth.
