Ep. 235: The Locked Wine Cellar Mystery Involving a Financial President and a Debt-Ridden Sommelier

Mouri, Ran, and Conan attend a private party hosted by a wealthy financial president known for his extensive wine collection. Three guests, all indebted to the host, participate in a tasting challenge where a training sommelier risks debt forgiveness for correct guesses. Frustrated by the sommelier's success, the president retreats to his locked wine cellar for a rare vintage. The group discovers his body inside after he remains absent too long. Conan investigates fingerprints on the doorknob and reconstructs the crime using Mouri, Takagi, and Chiba. The culprit lured the president to the backyard via the cellar window, killed him there, and lowered the corpse into the cellar using clothesline poles. The falling body knocked over bottles, staining the poles, which the killer wiped clean. The murderer confessed to the killing, citing the president's increased interest rates and inability to pay employees as the motive.
