Ep. 24: Kogoro investigates escaped convict Yuda Hitoshi and amnesiac Maya in a murder plot

Kogoro Mori reads that convicted criminal Yuda Hitoshi has escaped prison. At a horse track, a woman named Tachibana Maya collapses into his arms and is hospitalized with amnesia. After her release, a bearded man in a car tries to hit Maya, and debris nearly crushes her. Conan suspects an assassination attempt and observes Maya’s odd reactions. He deduces the bearded man is Yuda Hitoshi in disguise. Hitoshi and Maya are partners; he hired Maya, a professional assassin, to kill Kogoro. Maya’s prior car accident caused her memory loss. Hitoshi’s failed attempts to kill Kogoro actually helped Maya recover her memories. Maya takes Kogoro to an abandoned warehouse to hang him with a wire, but Conan intervenes. Police arrest both Hitoshi and Maya.
