Ep. 26: The Murder Case Involving the Pet Dog Named John

Conan, Ran, and Kogoro investigate the death of Maehara Takeshi, who was killed by a dog named John owned by Sakaguchi Masayoshi. Suspicions arise because Takeshi previously bullied Masayoshi’s son, Masato, leading to his suicide years ago. Inspector Megure warns that John faces euthanasia. Sanae reveals Masayoshi called shortly before 9:00 and placed the phone near John. Conan guides Kogoro to deduce that the dog was trained to attack upon hearing nine chimes from a Longcase clock combined with Masayoshi’s voice. Masayoshi confesses to orchestrating the revenge after Takeshi resumed bullying. John is spared and sent to live with a relative in the countryside.
