Aired on January 14, 2002Filler

264
Eri Kisaki defends Shinji Usami, convicted of murdering Tsuyoshi Hirasawa while drunk. Her rival, prosecutor Reiko Kujo, highlights that Hirasawa pushed Shinji’s son Masaki to his death, providing motive. Evidence includes a metal pipe and Shinji’s car keys found at the scene. Although Shinji confesses, inconsistencies remain. Kogoro, present at a nearby bar, is questioned by Eri regarding Shinji’s alibi. Shinji’s estranged wife, Masako Kamedo, confirms Hirasawa visited her establishment and states Kogoro was awake. Kogoro admits he fell asleep but was woken by Kamedo for a call. The call timestamp proves Shinji was at the bar during the murder. In court, Reiko unexpectedly calls Kogoro to testify, confusing Eri and worrying Conan.
