Ep. 266: The Truth Behind Valentine's Murder Investigation at the Hills Lodge

Sonoko invites Ran, Conan, and Kogoro to a hillside lodge where chocolates are blessed for love. They meet owner Chiyoko Yuasa and guests: photographer Yoshitaka Nigaki, his girlfriend Ako Amari, Mika Konokawa, hunters Hajime Itakura and Yuzo Sakami, and Chiyoko’s dog Subaru. The women prepare chocolate gifts; Sonoko makes one for Makoto, while Ran leaves hers nameless. Nigaki leaves to take photos during a snowstorm but does not return. Conan and Subaru find him bludgeoned to death. Evidence includes a weapon near the body, blood wiped from his face, and Ako’s chocolate in his lap. Kogoro concludes the murder occurred in the afternoon, but Conan notes the killer repositioned Nigaki’s glasses. Conan is baffled by why the chocolate was left in the victim's lap.
