During the climax of The Golden Apple musical, actor Heath Flockhart, playing Paris, is shot. Police initially suspect an unknown assailant who rented all theater terraces. Shinichi Kudo discovers a cold bullet on a terrace, proving the scene was staged to frame an audience member. He deduces the falling armor was triggered by a tripwire and identifies the killer as one of four actresses with romantic ties to Heath. While investigating the murder method, Shinichi notices a crack in a mirror prop, which allows him to identify the true murderer and solve the case.
