Heiji and Kogoro travel to Okinawa to investigate a body discovered on Onikame island alongside a cryptic carved message. Their deduction competition is broadcast to boost local tourism. Joined by Conan, Ran, and Kazuha, the group arrives with four TV crew members. They decipher the clue regarding a princess's resting place, interpreting Kō and Otu as ambiguous terms. The situation escalates when Yoshie Taira is found strangled, leaving a final message identifying herself as a Servitor of Goosoh. Heiji dives into the water to investigate, retrieving an anchor. As they attempt to depart, the captain abandons them with the boat, leaving the group stranded on the island. They seek shelter in an abandoned house, waiting for rescue.
