Conan and the Detective Boys visit hospitalized friend Jun, who requests assistance in sneaking out to a game room. Conan agrees to stay behind in Jun's place. A man enters the room, mistakenly believing Conan is Jun, and kidnaps him to demand a ransom from the family. After the ransom is paid, the police place the money in a van accompanying the kidnapper. However, while traveling through a tunnel, the van vanishes completely, leaving no trace of its existence.
