Ran, Conan, Kogoro, and the Detective Kids visit an inn where the owner is angered by rumors of hauntings. While searching for a ghost, Ayumi spots a girl and loses her, only to find the girl unconscious. The landlady mentions Mami, who believed in Eiji’s innocence, but the owner claims Eiji and Mami died ten years ago. The children investigate Mami’s abandoned home and learn from Agasa that Eiji committed suicide after being suspected of jewelry theft. Ayumi leads them to where she saw Mami vanish, revealing a piece of cloth. Later, the group catches a person on the roof; the owner attacks him with a knife as he escapes. Ran screams, and they see Mami’s ghost near the weapon.
