Author Manda meets his editor, who waits in the hallway for his manuscript. Manda disguises himself and visits Haramoto, the man ghostwriting for him. Haramoto hands over the script and discusses a new mystery he plans to unveil after being introduced to the right people. Manda then kills Haramoto with a vase, steals the detective story, and returns to his hotel room.
