Ayumi discovers the final page of her book, Alec's Adventure, is missing, prompting Conan and the Detective Boys to investigate. They locate Tsukasa Naito, who previously removed the page, and uncover the theft of the Sairai Seki. Conan deduces Tsukasa stole the stone, mistaking it for the Futabi no Ishi from the story, believing it could restore a lost loved one. The group investigates Tsukasa's home, finding a torn page fragment and a coded message hidden behind a beach photograph. Following the clues, they find Tsukasa at the beach, attempting to use the stone to resurrect his deceased mother. His father arrives and embraces him, helping Tsukasa accept her permanent absence. The boys and Tsukasa then return the stone to the school.
