Ep. 49: Diplomat Murder Case Part Two Resolution and Aftermath
Aired on February 24, 1997

49
Shinichi corrects Heiji’s deduction, proving Isao’s father Tsujimura Toshimitsu innocent by analyzing pocket geometry and needle placement. He reveals the true killer is Kimie, who used opera music and books to mask the murder of Isao, who had framed her first husband Yamashiro Kenji. Isao’s rage over Takayoshi dating Yukiko, Kimie’s daughter, triggered the crime. Kimie confesses as evidence is found in her key-holder. Shinichi reverts to Conan in the bathroom, where Ran questions him before he collapses. Three days later, Ran hides Conan’s baijiu to prevent him from turning back into Shinichi. Conan then joins his friends for a final game in the library before his transformation ends.
