Heiji and others find Ran unconscious in a shed, realizing Shiragami brought her there for wound treatment. Investigation reveals Shinichi is framed, but Heiji proves Shinichi stabbed Kawuchi without tricks. Shiragami appears as the real Shinichi, exposing the amnesic Shinichi as Makoto, who had plastic surgery. Heiji cites broken mirrors as proof of Makoto's hatred. Makoto confesses the mayor's death was murder, not suicide, because the mayor discovered his wife's affair via blood types AB, O, and O. While driving home, the group stops a car with a strangled driver.
