While the professor is occupied, Conan and the Detective Boys are driven home by Subaru Okiya from a fishing dock. They explore Ikkaku Rock and discover a deceased woman. Conan identifies her as Akamine Hikari, daughter of a prominent company head, based on her name engraved on her wristwatch. He determines she was murdered and notes her dying message consisted of fish names in katakana: Mackerel, Carp, Sea Bream, and Flounder. Her diving companions, Rokusuke Ohto, Shuhei Aosato, and Yasuji Kaita, arrive on the island. They explain that Akamine went missing during their previous dive but they assumed she was safe because she had sent the message "Take care of the rest."
