The Detective Boys meet a depressed Inspector Shiratori, who is troubled by Sato’s affection for Takagi. He recounts a past incident where he helped a young girl stop two thieves, receiving a drink with a paper sakura in return. Conan doubts the girl was Sato due to their personality differences. Later, Shiratori meets Nami Kasakura, who offers him a similar drink, leading him to suspect she is the girl from his memory. After the movie, Kasakura asks Shiratori to investigate a stalker. At her apartment, her boyfriend is found dead. Conan suspects Kasakura, but her alibi claims she remained at the theater throughout the incident.
