Ep. 569: Inspector Shiratori recalls cherry blossom memories in the second part of his story

Shiratori instructs Takagi to retrieve drinks from the theater and deliver them to the apartment. He explains that Kasakura drugged him with sleeping pills and placed her tuque on his head to create an alibi by having him impersonate her. Upon arriving at the department, Takagi presents the drink. Shiratori notes that although he broke a piece of the flower design, all fragments remained, proving Kasakura switched his beverage while he was unconscious to conceal the drugs. He adds that a white string from the tuque implies his hair should be found on it. Kasakura confesses to killing her cheating boyfriend of two years in vengeance. Saddened that the girl from his past became a criminal, Shiratori is cheered by Ayumi, who offers paper sakura and repeats words from his youth. Ayumi reveals she learned this from teacher Sumiko Kobayashi, leading Shiratori to realize she was the girl from his past.
