During a ski trip, Rachel, Serena, and Conan reunite with former elementary teachers Anne Preston, Shelley Tilton, Paul Keen, and Brent Shore at a villa. They encounter Drake Ziegman, a journalist who warns of impending murders. True to his prediction, Serena discovers Ms. Preston unconscious and is attacked, though both survive. Larry Sullivan, who organized the trip, is found dead outside near the doorbell. Conan asks Dr. Agasa to investigate, revealing that a student named Moreen Manahan committed suicide three years ago, and the current suspects were her teachers. Before Conan can solve the mystery, Ms. Tilton screams in horror.
