Ep. 9: The Tenkaichi Festival Murder Case involving Sasai Norikazu and Imatake Satoru

Sasai Norikazu cold-bloodedly kills his partner, award-winning author Imatake Satoru, then encounters Conan, Ran, and Kogoro at the Festival of Lights. Inspector Yokomizo informs Norikazu of the crime, but he possesses an alibi supported by photographs taken with Conan’s group. Conan suspects Norikazu but notes the disposable camera and images were not tampered with. By re-examining the photos, Conan proves Norikazu’s guilt, using Kogoro’s voice to explain the trick. The pictures were actually taken the previous year at the same festival and saved until the murder day. Conan points out an untanned line on Norikazu’s wrist from a watch in some shots, but pale skin in others. Norikazu confesses to the revenge killing, as Satoru won a contract and award for a book they co-wrote, leaving Norikazu with nothing.
