Ep. 10: Conan investigates Akagi Hideo's intentional misses linked to his brother's kidnapping

Akagi Ryoko visits Kogoro seeking Kudo Shinichi, prompting Conan to observe star player Akagi Hideo missing easy shots. Conan informs Ryoko that Shinichi will contact her, after which he and Ran visit her apartment. There, Conan learns that Hideo’s younger brother, Akagi Mamoru, has been abducted. The kidnapper demands Hideo throw the match to ensure Mamoru’s safe return. Using a clue from Mamoru’s video game, Conan and others locate him at the residence of Hideo’s friend and rival, Uemura Naoki. Naoki confesses to the kidnapping as revenge for Hideo breaking his leg during practice, which ended Naoki’s own soccer career. He later regrets his actions when Hideo publicly expresses on television that he wishes Naoki were present, noting they could have scored more goals together.
