Conan, Ran, and Sonoko stargaze in a park when Sonoko spots a hand in a flowerbed. They visit Sasaki Studio, but the director reveals a second flowerbed on the Yoshimura building roof. After failing to find a corpse there, Sonoko realizes they missed a location and returns to the studio. Conan deduces the trick and the culprit. He and Ran rush to save Sonoko, who confronts the criminal. This marks the first case Sonoko solves independently.
