Police continue their investigation while Sera deduces the trick but not the culprit. She assumes Conan has not solved the case, yet he reveals he has identified both the method and the perpetrator. However, Conan remains puzzled by Ran's comment that the excursion is unusual. Sera and Conan collaborate to expose the trick and the culprit. By the end of the day, the girls inform the frustrated Conan that the trip is their high school excursion, which he had completely forgotten. Conan expresses strong regret that he missed the opportunity to join the school trip.
