Kogoro, Conan, and Ran attend the birthday celebration of Anna, the president of a dog food company, at a yacht harbor. Shortly after the event begins, Anna is fatally shot by a masked individual wielding a shotgun. The perpetrator flees the scene without being caught. Inspector Meguire interviews Vice President Inamura, Managing Director Machiko, and Secretary Morishima. Anna's ex-boyfriend, Panto, becomes a primary suspect due to his motive. However, Panto provides an alibi claiming he was committing a burglary at Anna's residence at the time of the murder. Kogoro and his companions suspect that this alibi is a fabricated disguise intended to conceal Panto's true whereabouts and involvement in the crime.
