515EP 515Kaitou Kid Uses Teleportation to Evade Jirokichi Suzuki's Net Trap
Oct 20, 2008Jirokichi Suzuki attempts to capture Kaitou Kid by displaying the Purple Nail, a pair of jewel-encrusted high heels, in a confined town square. He deploys four twenty meter tall nets to block escape routes via hang glider. Kid arrives, lands on the pedestal, and triggers the trap. He then claims to use teleportation, vanishing in smoke and reappearing on a nearby roof ten seconds later. Kid reveals the displayed heel is a fake and promises to return the following night for the genuine pair. The next day, Kid makes another attempt to steal the Purple Nail using a similar method as before.
516EP 516The Mysterious Armoured Warrior and the Centipede Murders
Nov 3, 2008Kogoro and Heiji investigate parallel murders involving dead centipedes, linking the Torada and Tatsuo families to a six-year-old incident involving Officer Kuroto Kai. A third detective, Kansuke Yamato, joins the inquiry as they uncover that Kai died of emaciation after falling from a cliff. The victims were searching for Takeda Shingen’s legendary treasure, and the centipedes reference Shingen’s soldiers. After Ran and Kazuha spot a moving Takeda Shingen armor, Ayaka Tatsuo is found hanged with a centipede nearby. The detectives deduce the killer follows the Furinkazan pattern, predicting a death by fire. Consequently, Shigetsugu Torada is found combusting into flames near a railroad track, confirming the killer’s adherence to this specific sequence of fatal events.
517EP 517Kansuke reveals Shigetsugu's suicide and Conan identifies Ayaka's killer via forensic evidence.
Nov 10, 2008Kansuke Yamato explains that Shigetsugu died after his fishing rod contacted railroad power lines. He presents Shigetsugu's diary, which claims four victims caused Kuroto Kai's death, leading Kansuke to conclude Shigetsugu murdered three people before taking his own life. Meanwhile, Conan and Heiji examine Ayaka's crime scene. Forensic analysis reveals blue eye liner on Ayaka's hand. This specific detail allows the detectives to identify the true murderer, correcting the previous assumption regarding Shigetsugu's guilt. Dec 1, 2008The Detective Boys visit a shrine honoring Shōin Yoshida and witness two men trying to steal a diary from Kimiko Kobayakawa. She reveals the diary holds a treasure location worth a country. Kogoro, Ran, and the boys decode the first clue, which shows a fox and carp with the text "Feed the carp to the fox." Kimiko interprets this as her local carp stream and travels to Tsuwano with friend Shigeru Kawaguchi and servant Tsuneo Kikkawa. Conan realizes the clue refers to an Inari Shrine by folding the image. They find a map of Hagi with instructions to reflect a castle in a cat's eye and look under a mouse. While exploring Hagi, Kimiko, Mitsuhiko, and Haibara are kidnapped by the thieves.
519EP 519fillerMeiji Restoration Mystery Tour: Decipher Chapter
Dec 8, 2008Kidnappers demand Conan’s group locate treasure before nightfall. Conan matches a cat image from a diary to a Hagi map, revealing a temple. He decodes “mouse” as “mouth,” finding a clue in a stone lantern’s fire mouth. A diary page directs them to Akiyoshi cave, the only one with a lake. Conan rearranges jumbled map panels using cave kanji. The map indicates finding dragon pairs where a fox rock points to a light rock. Kikkawa guides them to two waterfalls. There, a fox-shaped shadow reveals a mirror inside a rock. Pushing the rock exposes a cave, which the group navigates using the constructed map.
520EP 520fillerConan deduces a murder victim's revenge via a tainted wine bottle and bloody fingerprint evidence.
Dec 15, 2008Kogoro attends a wine appreciation party hosted by collector Murozo Honjo. Conan and Ran observe Honjo arguing with critic Goro Akamaru, after which Conan witnesses Honjo striking Akamaru with a brick. Although Conan cannot find immediate evidence, he discovers blood in a barrel, realizing Akamaru’s body was moved to avoid detection. The only unexplored area is a fingerprint-secured wine storage room. During a tasting, Honjo’s prized wine is ruined because dregs mixed with the liquid.
