Cultivation clans had long failed to summon the Yiling Patriarch Wei Wuxian, who was believed to have been killed by his brother Jiang Cheng. He is finally incarnated into the body of Mo Xuanyu, a young man filled with hatred for his abusive family, through a sacrificial ritual. While Wei Wuxian proceeds to exact revenge on the Mo Family as requested, he encounters the new generation of the Lan sect and becomes involved in a zombie mystery. When the situation proves too difficult to handle alone, Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi seek assistance from nearby seniors, which ultimately attracts the attention of Wei Wuxian's long-time acquaintance.
