Wei Wuxian sneaks out for wine and is caught by Lan Wangji, leading to a fight that sends them outside Cloud Recesses. They are punished with beatings and seek relief in the Cold Spring, where Wei Wuxian tries to bond but fails. Strange noises draw them to fight escaped feral zombies. Lan Wangji waits for Jiang Cheng to bring his guqin, while Wei Wuxian struggles without a weapon. He protects a rabbit, but resentful energy enters his body when a zombie approaches. Jiang Cheng returns Wei Wuxian’s sword, allowing them to win. Jiang Cheng is angry about the energy usage, but Wei Wuxian promises not to repeat it. Afterward, Wei Wuxian brings two rabbits to Lan Wangji, teasing him until he agrees to adopt them. Wei Wuxian notes the rabbits are stacked, causing Lan Wangji to call him obscene and making Wei Wuxian stutter.
