Ep. 3: Wei Wuxian begins cultivation studies at Cloud Recesses and clashes with Lan Wangji over rule-breaking and pranks.

Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng, and Nie Huaisang arrive at Cloud Recesses to train as cultivators. Wei Wuxian recognizes Lan Wangji, the top disciple, admitting he previously angered him in Gusu. During their first meeting, Wei Wuxian’s playful nature causes him to break three rules, earning resentment from Lan Wangji and teacher Lan Qiren. Despite his mischief, Wei Wuxian demonstrates knowledge, though his methods involve the forbidden demonic path. He is punished by copying texts in the Library Pavilion under Lan Wangji’s supervision. After one month, Wei Wuxian completes the task and gifts Lan Wangji a portrait, which is actually a prank depicting him femininely. He also swaps Lan Wangji’s poetry book for an erotic art book, leading to a library fight fueled by Wei Wuxian’s teasing. Meanwhile, the Wen sect creates trouble for the Lan sect as dangerous water ghouls are driven into Gusu’s waters.
