Ep. 2: Wei Wuxian meets Jin Ling and Jiang Cheng while hiding his identity from Lan Wangji

Wei Wuxian flees to Mt. Dafan to avoid Lan Wangji after stopping a mysterious arm. There, he encounters Jin Ling, leading to a conflict that draws in Jiang Cheng. Wei Wuxian discovers Jin Ling is Jiang Cheng’s nephew, orphaned due to Wei Wuxian’s past errors. Jiang Cheng fails to recognize Wei Wuxian in Mo Xuanyu’s body until the latter uses demonic powers to summon Wen Ning and defeat the arm. Lan Wangji suspects the truth but protects Wei Wuxian, offering to return to Gusu after an unexpected confession. The episode concludes by shifting the timeline twenty years into the past to begin flashbacks of Wei Wuxian’s youth.
