Sixth-grader Taira "Icchi" Yuuichi faces school bullying due to mistaken identity as Lil' Slugger, sharing a red hat and golden skates. He suspects rival student council candidate Ushiyama Shougo, leading to an aggressive accusation captured on photo and shared via text. Shougo defends him, causing embarrassment. Detectives question witness Tsukiko and Yuuichi regarding two attacks. At his birthday, only his mother and tutor attend. Shougo attempts to comfort Yuuichi, who grows angrier and wishes Shougo harm, resulting in Shougo becoming the next victim. Yuuichi eventually develops egopathic delusions about reclaiming fame and is attacked by Lil' Slugger himself.
