The blob grows giant, forcing them into the subway where they sink. Tsukiko accepts her fault, stopping the blob. Two years later, Tokyo recovers. Tsukiko works as an office worker, Ikari remains a security guard, and Kawazu stays a reporter. Maniwa, with white hair, solves a street equation and gasps.
