Following an attack on Taeko, Maniwa suspects a second Lil' Slugger and analyzes victim profiles to predict the next target. Kozuka insists on being a holy warrior, but Ikari reveals the first incident was fabricated. Kozuka admits to attacking Ushiyama and Hirukawa. Maniwa becomes increasingly agitated, noting that most victims felt cornered yet relieved, whereas Ushiyama appeared worry-free. Ikari suggests Maniwa take leave. The situation escalates when Kozuka is discovered dead in his cell after another Lil' Slugger appears and escapes through the police station walls.
