Ep. 2: Rin Asano seeks Manji's aid to destroy the Ittou-ryuu after revealing her family's tragic history.

Rin Asano prays at her father's grave, revealing her quest for revenge against the Ittou-ryuu to Yaobikuni. Yaobikuni directs her to Manji, while the Mugai-ryuu debates his allegiance. Rin attempts to persuade Manji to help defeat the Ittou-ryuu, but he demands to know which side is just. She recounts the destruction of the Mutenichi-ryuu by Kagehisa Anotsu and the Ittou-ryuu. Kagehisa explains that fifty years prior, his grandfather Saburou Anotsu and Rin's grandfather Takayoshi Asano competed for the dojo license. Bandits interrupted the match; Takayoshi killed four, and Saburou killed eight. Saburou was expelled for using a foreign blade. Later, the Ittou-ryuu seized the dojo, leading to the murder of Kurose and the stabbing of his wife, who was saved from violation by Sabato Kuroi. Manji agrees to assist Rin, though Yaobikuni questions who will save whom.
