Ep. 6: Kusano Kene is betrayed by a disguised assassin while Manji faces a poisoned immortal rival.

Kusano Kene, a secondary military officer of the Ittou-ryuu, rescues a geisha from harassment by her husband. He follows her to an okiya where she poisons him and shoots him in the head with a crossbow. Her disguise is removed to reveal Hyakurin, with her husband identified as Shinriji from the Mugai-ryuu. In another location, Giichi interrogates Morozumi Chogou, an Ittou-ryuu member, by holding him with a chained double blade. Giichi forces him to reveal the number of masters in the clan before beheading him. Meanwhile, Manji and Rin rest at an inn where Manji meets Eiku Shizuma. Shizuma proposes an alliance against Anotsu, but Manji refuses. Shizuma stabs Manji in the chest, and Manji simultaneously stabs Shizuma in the back, revealing Shizuma is immortal like him. Manji later realizes Shizuma’s dagger was poisoned when his sacred bloodworms fail to appear, causing him to cry out in pain as blood spews from fissures in his body.
