Deidara and Sasori track their target to a cave where the Akatsuki leader joins them. They spend three days using astral projection to extract and seal Shukaku from Gaara inside the Gedo Statue, with all members focusing on the Phantom Dragons Nine Consuming Seals Technique. Meanwhile, Chiyo and Ebizo fail to heal Kankuro. Team Kakashi rests overnight. Recognizing the urgency, Tsunade assigns Team Guy as backup support. The group reaches the Hidden Sand after enduring a severe sandstorm. Upon arrival, they encounter Chiyo, who attacks Kakashi, mistakenly believing him to be his father, Sakumo Hatake. This event occurs during the Kazekage Rescue Mission arc.
