Jiraiya consults Gerotora regarding an impending battle and reveals that the Nine-tails attack was orchestrated by Madara Uchiha, not a natural disaster. Pain transforms into a new body and instructs Konan to engage their former teacher. Upon arriving, Pain explains his ideology and the Akatsuki’s objective to collect Tailed Beasts for a forbidden weapon capable of instant national destruction, aiming to mature the world by instilling a hatred of war. The confrontation escalates when Pain summons a crab to attack Jiraiya. Jiraiya defeats the crab and subsequently summons the giant frog Gamaken to counter the threat. This segment is part of the Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant arc.
