Jiraiya panics upon realizing Pain possesses the Rinnegan and resembles Yahiko, suspecting the leader is either Yahiko or Nagato. After defeating one of the Pains and confirming he has encountered all of them previously, he deduces their true identities. Lady Shima departs at his request. Before Pain crushes his throat, Jiraiya recalls Naruto's determination and forces himself awake to write a crucial message on Lord Fukasaku's back. Pain blasts him into the ocean, where Jiraiya dies content, certain that Naruto is the Child of Prophecy. This narrative concludes the Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant arc, marked as entry 7 out of 7 in the series.
