Jiraiya blinds one of the new Pains, leading Lord Fukasaku to suspect that all three share the same eyes and vision. Jiraiya realizes each body serves a specific purpose and stalls for time while Lord Fukasaku and Lady Shima prepare a powerful genjutsu. They successfully defeat the bodies, but as Jiraiya leaves, another Pain ambushes him, destroying his left arm. Looking up, he sees six Pains, including the three that were killed. He stands horrified, wondering just who and what Pain is. This event occurs within the Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant arc.
