Naruto attempts to merge with Fukasaku to activate Sage Mode while the elder toad gathers Nature Energy. However, the Nine-Tails compels them to find an alternative method for Naruto to enter Sage Mode during combat. Meanwhile, the Interrogation Corp struggles to defend against Pain's new Animal Path and its diverse array of animal summonings. Ibiki is unable to halt the attackers, forcing the protagonists to adapt their strategy under intense pressure from the invading forces.
