Pain's Naraka Path attacks two Leaf shinobi while Konohamaru Sarutobi watches in horror. Pain senses Konohamaru but is interrupted by Ebisu, who fights Pain to allow Konohamaru to escape. Witnessing Ebisu about to be killed, Konohamaru intervenes. After learning that Naraka judges souls and reaps the sinner's life, Konohamaru uses a Shadow Clone to unleash the Rasengan. This technique allows him to keep Naraka at bay despite the terrifying ability. The event occurs during the Pain's Assault arc, specifically noted as episode 10 out of 22.
