As the White Zetsu Army is eliminated, Hyuga cousins Neji and Hinata battle together, with Hinata guarding the recovering Neji. Hinata recalls a past incident where Neji sought the Eyebright plant in the Valley of Judgement to cure her strained eyesight, so she could attend fireworks with Team Kakashi. Accompanied by Naruto and Sakura, Neji faced faceless humanoid creatures until Might Guy and Kakashi Hatake arrived to drive them away. Kakashi deemed the search futile, and they returned to the village. Later, during the fireworks display, Hinata tells Neji that Naruto and Sakura revealed his efforts, allowing her to finally thank him. They resolve to defeat the enemy until Naruto arrives on the battlefield.
