Naruto arrives to aid Karui and the Allied Shinobi Forces, who are battling a reanimated samurai he recognizes as Tatewaki. A flashback reveals Tsunade assigned Team 10 and Naruto to the Land of This to kidnap Shuu, the Feudal Lord's son. Shikamaru devised a plan where Choji entered an eating contest at the castle to secure second place. Choji dominated the competition, prompting Ino to use Mind Transfer Jutsu on Shuu, who retreated to the washroom. Naruto then used Transformation Technique to impersonate Shuu. Upon reentering his body, Shuu questioned Shikamaru, who explained the mission. Just before Choji could win the final round, Shikamaru used Shadow Possession Jutsu to stop him from eating the last BBQ chicken, ensuring Choji finished second after Isono.
