Amidst a ceasefire, the Allied Shinobi Forces manage casualties at a busy medical camp where important bodies are being sealed. Observing the rising death toll, Kabuto decides to act by summoning Hayate Gekkou, who is confused about his posthumous status. Kabuto explains the events surrounding his death and then reincarnates a Sand and a Cloud shinobi to join Hayate. This trio infiltrates the medical division, creating chaos to steal the scroll listing the killed in action. As the medics organize a pursuit team to recover the document, Yuugao is asked to join. She objects to participating because Hayate was her former lover, complicating the mission to retrieve the sensitive records.
