Danzo commands Kinoe and Kinoto to retrieve Kakashi's failing Sharingan for his right eye. Meanwhile, Kakashi is summoned by Hiruzen at the Leaf Village Cemetery to investigate an Orochimaru hideout. He encounters Kinoe, who reveals his true mission. A conflict ensues where Kakashi hesitates to kill a former comrade. Kinoe mentions Kakashi allegedly killed a friend, but pinned down with Chidori ready, Kakashi's presence triggers Kinoe's memories of Root. Kinoe accepts his fate, allowing Kakashi to strike. Unbeknownst to them, a menacing creature watches from a giant cylinder nearby. This event is part of Kakashi's Anbu Arc: The Shinobi That Lives in the Darkness, specifically entry 7 out of 13.
