Yamato disguises himself as Sasori within Hiruko to meet a spy at the Tenchi Bridge. The contact is revealed to be Kabuto, who provides the location of Orochimaru's hideout. Orochimaru suddenly appears, interrupting the encounter. Although Kabuto feigns fear, he attacks Yamato. Orochimaru identifies Yamato not as Sasori, but as a test subject from his experiments to replicate Hashirama's power using First Hokage DNA. He also knows Yamato is not alone, ordering him to reveal Naruto, Sakura, and Sai from their hiding spots. This event occurs during the Tenchi Bridge Reconnaissance Mission arc, specifically episode 7 of 21.
