Team Kazami ambushes Team Kurenai to identify the scroll holder, revealing Kiba as the carrier. After securing the Earth Scroll, Burami uses his Smell Sphere technique to numb the opponents, but Team Kurenai persists through willpower. Muyami summons a giant mole named Moguranmaru, allowing his team to flee. Shino attaches a kikaichuu beetle to the creature, enabling pursuit. Team Kurenai falls into quicksand, but Akamaru rescues them from apparent death. With Team Kazami out of Hinata's sight, Kiba uses his nose to track the fleeing group. This event occurs during the In Naruto's Footsteps: The Friends' Paths arc, specifically part 9 of 20.
