Meanwhile, the Konoha 11 teams reach the Demon Desert checkpoint for the second exam, with late arrivals eliminated. A cafeteria fight erupts after ruined food, causing Fū to be isolated. In Konohagakure, Kakashi reports his failed infiltration of Amegakure to Tsunade. Chouji, Sakura, and Ino encounter a giant scorpion while seeking food, but Fū rescues them. Gaara observes Fū’s resemblance to Naruto. The second phase begins, dividing teams between the Scroll of Earth and Scroll of Heaven, requiring each group to retrieve the opposing scroll to pass.
