Obito questions Kakashi’s solitary nature and trains to catch up, while Hiruzen asks Minato to teach him humanity. After Obito’s graduation, Rin reveals they are on the same team. Minato administers the bell test, which they pass, leading to D-rank errands where Obito’s kindness is noted. They then receive a C-rank mission escorting foreign shinobi. Minato splits the group to handle pursuers, saving Obito from an attack. Meanwhile, Kakashi stalls enemies while Rin proceeds, but an escort falls from a bridge. Near the destination, two escorts reveal themselves as traitors and attack Rin and Kakashi, knowing Minato is too far away to intervene in time.
