Fenrir pursues Sariphi until Leonhart and Gwiber arrive, prompting a duel for the title of King. Nir blocks Jormungand and Anubis from interfering, allowing them to merely watch. Leonhart fights with magic but depletes his reserves due to unrecovered enchantments on Sariphi's ring. The combat shifts to hand-to-hand, causing severe injuries to both. Leonhart falls but rises upon hearing Sariphi, mortally wounding Fenrir who refuses to yield. Nir stabs Fenrir in the back and flees with the body. Leonhart collapses from his wounds and is rushed to palace healers, where Sariphi tends to him in his human form. Nir reflects on Fenrir's standing order to kill him upon defeat and questions his purpose. Meanwhile, Set explores the forbidden archives.
