The King rejects courtiers urging him to change his queen selection and instructs Sariphi to avoid calling him Leonhart publicly. She decorates the castle with paper flowers, comparing Leonhart to a carpenter bee due to his appearance and temperament. At a banquet introducing her to the kingdom, guests from various beast races are surprised by a human queen. Sariphi wins favor by assisting servants, though a Reptilian guest trips her, spilling wine on the King. Leonhart intends to kill the attacker, but Sariphi intervenes to prevent violence. Later, the King takes her on his Holy Beast Gwiber, explaining her role is to temper his aggression. He permits her to use his first name in private.
